Product Description
For sale is an awesome and funky vintage Japanese thinline guitar from Kent. Made in the mid to late 60's by the Teisco company of Japan and imported to America by Buegeleisen & Jacobson instrument distributor of New York. This is really wild looking guitar, but stands out from the pack of 60's vintage Japanese guitars due to it incredible playability. We've handled many dozens of 60's Japanese guitars and this is easily one of the best that had. The neck is incredibly comfortable and fast playing, with a thinner width that fits incredibly well in hand but feels substantial. It appears that this guitar has been re-fretted and the current frets have tons of life to them. Tonally it's crisp and defined, with a nice clarity coming from the soft pickups. When hit with overdrive or distortion it maintains it's definition incredibly well but really sings. This guitar pairs beautifully with effects pedals, creating a soft palette with which to add colorations to. Aesthetically a gorgeous guitar, this triple bound pancaked thinline body is covered in tortoise shell binding and it's slightly offset body is incredibly appealing to the eyes. We believe this was white originally and has aged into this beautiful creamy color. Cosmetically it's in good to very good condition for its age, with some finish cracking and scratches all across the body as well as dings. There is oxidation on the hardware and in the truss rod cavity. Included with the guitar is a great hardshell case. This guitar is a truly fantastic playing, sounding and looking instrument that is definitely a true standout from the vintage Japanese market and one of our absolute favorite instruments to walk through the door of the shop.
