Custom Paul Reed Smith 4- String Bass (86/87 1st Year Production, Rare Color!)

      This is a first year production (late '86-'87 ) Paul Reed Smith 4-string Bass in a very unique and rare Magenta Pearl finish. This Bass was signed by Mr. Smith, and confirmed that this color was inspired by his then wife's nail polish color...
There were not many PRS, guitar OR basses produced in this finish. This is actually the only bass I've ever seen in this color. 

Condition:
    I have listed this bass as being in "Good" condition. 
It plays like butter, professionally set-up and everything works as it should. 
As far as cosmetically, there are many small nicks/dings/scratches as well as some checking, which I've documented as best I could in the pictures. 
    It has a great vintage vibe going on, and for any PRS, or Bass collector this would be a great addition! 

     I have tried to price this very fairly, there are two other examples of this bass currently on the market. Both are 4-string, Pearl white finishes. 
The 1st is in the lower 100's serial # priced at almost $3,000. 
The 2nd is #40 and is priced at $4,300

     The reason I have priced mine at $1,999 is because the control knobs are not the original, and the case is not original. Lastly, the condition. Everything else is 100% original with no repairs whatsoever.

passive/active electronics w/ hum canceling 
chrome hardware
